Energy is one of the cornerstones of Lithuania’s independence: if we can supply ourselves with energy resources, we can make all our own decisions without being pushed around by an aggressive neighbour. We have already cut one umbilical cord – gas – from Russia, but now it is important to focus on renewable energy so that Russia has no tools to manipulate us.
