20 June, 2023 Authors: ROBERT JUODKA,

In June 2023 the International Bar Association (IBA) Global Employment Institute 11th Annual Global Report was published.
Lithuania is represented by PRIMUS Employment & Immigration team Robert Juodka, Managing Partner (International Business) and Senior Associate Greta Bagdanavičiūtė.

International Bar Association‘s report highlights international trends in human resources law.

Lawyers from 55 countries were asked to respond to the questionnaire. The questions were designed to cover the most relevant issues relating to employment, industrial relations, discrimination and immigration law. Lawyers were asked to consider changes during 2021 (and the first half of 2022), and very briefly explain them and their significance.

Topics included: data protection, privacy and human rights, flexible working, family-friendly policies, diversity, sustainability, technology, artificial intelligence, wages, immigration, talent issues, impact of political and world events. The answers to the questionnaire have been consolidated and summarised.

The International Bar Association (IBA), the global voice of the legal profession, is the foremost organisation for international legal practitioners, bar associations and law societies. Established
in 1947, shortly after the creation of the United Nations, it was born out of the conviction that an organisation made up of the world’s bar associations could contribute to global stability and peace
through the administration of justice. In the ensuing 70 years since its creation, the organisation has evolved, from an association comprised exclusively of bar associations and law societies, to one that incorporates individual international lawyers and entire law firms. The present membership is comprised of more than 80,000 individual international lawyers from most of the world’s leading law firms and some 190 bar associations and law societies spanning more than 170 countries. Through its global membership the IBA influences the development of international law reform and shapes the future of the legal profession throughout the world.

The law firm PRIMUS Legal Advisors operates as Noewe Legal from December 2023, continuing its services in the Baltics.
